Expansive meadow with a shallow pond to one side, and a tributary of Difficult Run to the other. No trails, be prepared for tall grass and occasional soggy footing. Butterflies abound in season. Bear sighting in 2016 made local news. Lots of deer. There were beaver building dams in the stream in 2013 but have not been seen since. Parking available on Waples Mill Road near intersection with Oakton Road. This is an easy place to practice your flycasting with unobstructed access to the pond, which holds modest numbers of sunfish. Check for ticks when you leave!
