Staff mixed up truck keys, and gave the keys attached to my reservation to a customer who had left 10 minutes before I arrived. I'm woken up at 6:30 AM the next day to a frantic call from U-Haul staff asking me to return the truck. I get the truck back as soon as I could, only to be told that it wasn't the truck that I had that they needed, but the truck on my reservation that some other person had. I hadn't stopped to refill, so I told the staffperson that I would now go get gas and return the truck, but he said not to worry, he wouldn't charge me. He gave me a receipt for the truck that I drove for $39 - the receipt had the other person's name on it, but he said that I would be charged the correct amount. Two days later, my statement says that I was charge $92 - this is what the other person drove, with the truck under my reservation. I have called customer service, who was not very helpful - they pointed out that I had signed saying my reservation was correct, but that was before they gave me the incorrect truck. I am now waiting to hear back if they will refund the $50 that they owe me. In any case, this location screwed me over twice - first by getting me the wrong truck, and then charging me for the wrong truck.
