I had a very nice loan processor that worked tirelessly to process my loan for the underwriter to decline the loan. We jumped through every hoop the underwriter requested for 5 months. I paid out $ 3,415 for inspections, and work on the property. I spent endless hours on paperwork. After 5 extensions I received a congratulations letter and final closing date. Two days before the closing I received a call notifying me the loan was denied by the underwriter because I went from a self employed employee to a full time employee for the same company seven months earlier. If the underwriter knew this during the 5 months of hurdles jumped why did they wait until two days before closing to notify me? Don't use Sun Trust. You can't depend upon their underwriters who think they can string you along for fun.
