OldTown Grill, Leesburg VA

This is by far my favorite restaurant! My husband and I have been coming here for years. We used to live pretty far away, and would come out to Leesburg once or twice a year, and made it part of that day trip once we discovered it. The owner is incredible, he is so passionate about his food that it's hard not to try one of everything after he's described it to you. The first time we ate there the owner overheard us talking about calamari. My husband and I both love calamari, but he can no longer eat anything deep fried without some pretty uncomfortable medical issues...the owner came over and told us that he would make a special calamari, the way "they make it back home." It was not breaded...and I have no idea what he did to it, but it was the best I've ever had. We now request this every time we go in. It's a bit pricey, however, considering the amount of flavors that they somehow cram into every bite and the quality of the service, it's a steal.
