I arrived at the restaurant at about 1:50 p.m. After standing around for a few minutes, I looked at the menu and noticed there was a lunch special.
However, when I was seated I was presented with a separate menu and told that the specials on the paper menu, and on the window outside, were only for takeout orders (which I did not see noted anywhere). The menu I was handed was old, worn, sticky, and had multiple layers of whiteout over all the previous prices they kept increasing through the years. The prices were nearly double that of the specials, for the same items.
I ordered Hunan beef. While the food was edible, it was very very salty, very oily, and generally had no distinguishable flavors as the sauce was overwhelming. The vegetables were probably my most favorite part even though they ranged from soggy to lightly cooked. The rice was as you'd expect just plain steamed white rice. In terms of portions, I was a little disappointed that I was paying $10 for just a medium sized plate.
Overall I found the experience disappointing. In retrospect I should have gotten the buffet for cheaper, but it was my first time there and I wanted to try something that is very standard between Chinese food restaurants.
The mediocre food was one thing, but the bait and switch with the menus is what sealed the deal for me. This place is not worth the time, or half the money.
