I have been volunteering at Hay Day Ranch for over a year now. It has become a sanctuary for me. The horses are quiet and gentle. They stand patiently while the children learn about grooming and tacking. I have never seen one of the horses misbehave with child on it's back and there are 2 side walkers provided until the riders become more confident and build up their core strength. There is also an instructor for those who want to become more active in a riding program. Hay Day is not just about learning to ride, it is about discovering who you are. How to cope with our own personal issues while still giving to the community in a selfless manner. The horses help to teach patience and respect.
The setting is peaceful and with fall approaching I am excited to see the leaves change color. Hay Day Ranch has the perfect venue for family reunions and intimate weddings. The horses and Sue have a small slice of heaven here on earth.
Sue opens her heart and Hay Day Ranch to those who want to learn more about horses and themselves. The children are given individual attention and group interactions.
