I've been driving up and down this stretch of highway for probably 20 years and have never known about this place. From the outside - it looks like a furniture store. "Country Food and Furniture" - I think that people think more of it as a furniture place because there is furniture in the windows. It also has dry grocery goods. If you want produce then you may need to look elsewhere or find a local farmer. The cost is outstanding! You can get a sandwich full of meat in it for about $4. Yes $4. The breads are baked there along with the other baked goods and pies.
When you walk in - walk to the deli counter and pick up a sheet of paper and start checking off how they will build your sandwich. Select your meats, your bread choice etc. If you want double meat - no problem. If you want it grilled - go for it. There are too many choices to explain in this post. Place your paper in the basket and wait for your name to be called.
It's run by 3 brothers from what I gather and you might have a hard time finding 3 nicer folks out there. We got 3 sandwiches that day. We initially ordered two but half way through my corned beef and pastrami, I had to get a liverwurst and onion to make sure that the first sandwich was not a fluke. The other sandwich was a turkey and roast beef.
If you have a small wait in line, I'm sorry, because I have told a bunch of people about this gem. And I am now doing a 5 star review. Go there and enjoy!
06/06/17 UPDATE - Sadly, I learned today that two of the fine young men that ran this establishment were involved in a tragic car accident. One hurt badly and the other has departed. I don't know the family but I pray for them.
