Rented an excavator and skid steer for a week, will update my review next week after I see the out come. Bald tires on skid steer, kept getting flat tires. Oh by the way, the contract says you the renter, are responsible for tires. Worn out tracks on excavator but it held together and one tooth missing. I had to send one of my guys back home (10 hours away) due to flat tires on skid steer. They did replace the skid steer with a track skid steer (after the flat tire they repaired went flat again) but by the time they got it to me it was 5:30 on Friday. We had to be done with this job Saturday so only one day of use on the skid steer but paid for a week. Just talked with someone at big sky today who said they would give SOME credit back on my credit card. My total cost for renting the equipment was 1706.78 for the week billed to my credit card. The portion of this total billed to my credit card for the skid steer(s) rental was 891.12 which at most I got two days use between both skid steers. Will give an update! Watch to see if my rating changes. PS I would recommend taking pix of anything you rent as soon as you get it. We did! Ok it's been a month, here are the end results: I spoke to someone at the rental that told me they would give me some money back. The money to be refunded was going to be the cost difference between the two skid steers. The skid steer that had bald tires (and kept going flat) and the Track skid steer. I was refunded on my credit card 185.88 but they had actually billed me 255.oo for the upgrade. Obviously not happy but I'm smart enough to avoid being burnt twice! Oh I should mention in all fairness, the service guy they sent out was polite and freindly. And even tho the condition of the equipment was in poor shape (tires and track, etc) they did run well. I just don't like how unfair it is to send equipment out with bald tires and track about to fall off with a contract that states the renter is responsible. Seems unfair! I would suggest you shop around and LOOk at the equipment before renting it. Then take pix of Everything when it arrives. I hope they read their reviews!
